Chapter One-Another Morning

I woke up to the annoying Edward Scissor Hands alarm clock screaming at me to wake up. I yawned, threw the blankets off myself, got up, walked across the room, and turned on my light. My room was illuminated by the ceiling light that hung in the middle of my room. The walls were vertically striped with black and green lines, stopping only for my black door and closet door.
‘I love my room,’ I thought to myself. I walked over to my vanity dresser thing and looked in the mirror. My mini vampire dolls and charms hung from black ribbons over the top of the mirror. I stared at my reflection.
I was the palest person I’d ever known. Bright green eyes that my brother, Clifford, said were “full of life”. Right. I laughed at myself. My inky black hair was a mess. Major bed-head. I’m glad I didn’t have bangs, I wouldn’t have been able to see. Besides, I worked a long time to get my hair to part in the front.
‘Shower time.’
Yes, shower time. 5:25 in the morning and it was shower time. I opened and rummaged through the drawers and collected a plain black baby-T, black knee-high socks, and my under stuff. The girl stuff. Tee-hee. I then headed to my closet. I picked out my black knee length skirt. Nice and simple. I was your average Goth living in a prep infested part of down town Los Angels. Even though I always call it Los Angeless. Lonely and depressed, that’s what I always felt.
‘Send me an angel,’ I thought to the ceiling. Making sure that I had everything I needed for this part of my morning, I headed out of my bedroom and down the hallway to the bathroom.
I lived with my brother, Clifford, in his one story house on Oak Wood Avenue. Our parents died in a car accident. Drunk semis and little black cars don’t exactly make a good couple. But since when they died, Clifford was eight-teen, he got ownership of me. That was four years ago.
I reached the bathroom. The bathroom clock read 5:35 am.  Clifford, the lucky bastard, got to sleep ‘til eight o’clock whilst I, the virgin, had to get up at 5:20. Fair? I think not. I turned the water and stripped myself of my black and green silk pajama set. That’s right. Silk. Special me.
Each morning I spent a total of twenty minutes in the bathroom. Ten showering because I love and I mean L.O.V.E, love, love, love the hot water. Five drying and dressing then five applying make-up. Why my make-up was in the bathroom, I can not say.
I finished dressing then applied my mascara. That was pretty much the only make-up I ever used except for special occasions, then I used lip gloss and eye shadow as well.
‘Breakfast time,’ I thought after tossing my dirty pajamas into the dirty clothes bin. I headed to the kitchen. Sophie, my fluffy gray kitty, waited for her breakfast as I determined what it was that I wanted for mine. I decided on oatmeal. I stuck it in the microwave, then fed my kitty.
“Sophie, has Clifford been feeding you table scraps?” I asked my fur ball, noticing she’d put on some weight. She stared at me and mewed as I emptied the can of cat food weight watchers into her dish. I walked back to the table where my hair brush was and combed my ebony hair.
My oatmeal went ding so I got up and retrieved it from the microwave, then sat down again to eat it. I turned on the news. Nothing was new, everything was re-run from yesterday. Sighing, I finished my breakfast and turned off the TV. It was 6:05. I had another forty minutes before I had to be at the bus stop. I decided I'd read my book, so I walked into the living room, sat down in the Lay-Z boy chair and opened Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice. I’d read the book about twenty times, but it was one of my favorites. I’m a vampire fan; always have been.
Thirty-nine minutes later, I put down my story and headed towards the front door. I buckled my knee high combat boots and grabbed my mail carrier bag which held my school things then headed out to the bus.
~~~
‘Here we go again,’ I figured when the bus reached my stop. The bus is where it all began; the teasing, the discrimination,  the true loneliness. I was the only one who got on at Oak Wood Avenue. I stepped slowly up the bus stairs and stared down the isle of the bus.
“Hey, Roberts, how’s it goin?” some one sneered.
I walked down the mess of teenagers to my usual seat behind the first emergency exit. I sat there everyday. The next stop, though, is where Hell began.
Blood;
It stains my hair, my hands, my face.
I can taste it in my mouth.
I can feel it running down my lips.
So warm...
I now remember why I crave it.
I am the vampire Dai.
Fear me...
Fear my hunger...
